Helen L. Himes, 94, of Warsaw, died at 8:10 p.m. Aug. 24, 2009, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

She was born Oct. 19, 1914, in Connorsville, to Clyde and Elizabeth Yeazel Lucas. On July 26, 1930, in Plymouth, she married Russell Himes, who died in 1971.

Moving to Warsaw from Benton Harbor, Mich., in 1948, she was a homemaker and was of the Pentecostal faith.

Surviving are a son, Vernon Himes, Warsaw; four daughters, Beverly Moody, Dardanelle (and spouse Richard) Yoder and Cindy Himes, all of Warsaw, and Sharon McNeese, Joelton, Tenn.; two sisters, Ruby Kessinger, Eau Claire, Mich., and Margaret Getz, Michigan; a brother, Pete Lucas, Barrien Springs, Mich.; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, two daughters, two sisters, two brothers and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with the Rev. Rick Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
