ROCHESTER - Helen I. Brown, 92, of Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, and formerly of Rochester, died at 5:20 a.m. Sept. 20, 2009, in her residence.
She was born May 26, 1917, in Muskegon, Mich., to Oda William and Elsie Fern Townsend Dague. On March 20, 1938, in Indianapolis, she married Jesse Arthur Brown, who died June 15, 1993.
She was a homemaker and formerly worked at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester. She was a former member of First Presbyterian Church, Woodlawn Hospital Auxiliary, Fulton County Choral, Canasta Club and Square Dance Club.
Survivors are three daughters, Joyce (and spouse David) Mills, Urbana, and Carol (and spouse David) Warner and Beth Mikesell, all of Warsaw; two sons, Walter (and spouse Sherry) Brown, Brownsburg, and Richard A. (and spouse Elaine) Brown, Rochester; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandchild, a brother and a sister.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester. Burial will be at a later date in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester.
Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
