Helen C. Chokey, 84, of Pahoa, Hawaii, and formerly of Syracuse, passed away Oct. 3, 2010, in Hilo (Hawaii) Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 29, 1926, in Noble County, to James and Cora Rosenogle. In 1949, she married Thomas Jackson, who died in 1976. In 1976, she married Edward "Dutch" Kline, who died in 1982. In 1985, she married Russell Chokey of Syracuse. He died in 1994.

She was a 1944 Cromwell High School graduate and retired from Dana Corp., Syracuse, Jan. 1, 1987, with 35 years of service. She was a member of Dana Retirement Association.

Surviving are a son, Michael Jackson, Pahoa; a grandson; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, John Rosenogle, Wawaka. She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Oct. 16 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, with Celebrant Larry Baker officiating. Burial will be in Sparta Cemetery, Kimmell.

Calling is from noon to 1 p.m. Oct. 16 at the funeral home.
