Helen B. McGlashan Kristl, 88, Warsaw, died Nov. 7, 2015, in Birmingham, Ala. She was born Feb. 4, 1927, in Chicago, Ill., to Fredrick A. and Blanche A. Gibbs Blair. On Feb. 3, 1951, she married Andrew David McGlashan Sr., who preceded her in death March 13, 1978. On Nov. 11, 1995, she married Franklin R. Kristl, who preceded her in death March, 30, 2010. She was a 1949 graduate of Grinnell College, Iowa, after which she taught elementary art in Elmhurst, Ill. Helen and Frank enjoyed their summers in Warsaw and winters in Sun City Center, Fla. She was a talented artist and enjoyed ceramics and gardening. She had a servant's heart and loved her family. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw, and Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Sun City Center. Surviving are a sister, Donna J. Read (and spouse Dennis S. Read) Birmingham, Ala.; three children: Linda L. Ellison, Winona Lake; Andrew David Jr. (and spouse Dr. Venaye) Reece-McGlashan, St. Helena Island, S.C.; Victoria J. (and spouse Rene L.) Tyson, Warsaw; two stepchildren, Timothy Kristl, Kansas City, Mo., and Dr. Kevin (and spouse Kimberly) Kristl, Mishawaka; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
