NORTH MANCHESTER – Helen A. French, 99, of North Manchester, died at 3:10 p.m. Oct. 10, 2012, in her residence.
She was born Feb. 25, 1913, in Elwood, to Harley B. and Emma Julia Smoak Greene. On Feb. 25, 1933, she married Woodrow A.L. French, who died Feb. 18, 1992.
She was a homemaker and a member of South Pleasant United Methodist Church, Silver Lake, and the United Methodist Women. She graduated from Kokomo High School in 1931.
Surviving are two sons, Danny (and spouse Mary) French, Warsaw, and Lonnie (and spouse Becky) French, North Manchester; two daughters, Judith Helen Murphy (and spouse Richard) Poel, Boyne City, Mich., and Joyce Lynn (and spouse Haskins) Kashima, Baltimore, Md.; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at South Pleasant United Methodist Church, Silver Lake, with Pastors Russell Reahard, Ed French and Chad W. Murphy officiating. Burial will be in South Pleasant Cemetery, Silver Lake.
