NORTH MANCHESTER – Helen A. Evans, 89, of North Manchester, died at 3:02 p.m. June 11,2011, in Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester.
He was born March 26, 1922, in Girard, Ill., to Wilbur H. and Ada M. Gibson Brubaker. On Dec. 22, 1944, she married T. Quentin Evans, who died Nov. 18, 2007.
She was a homemaker and a member of Manchester Church of the Brethren, North Manchester, where she taught Sunday school for many years, was a mentor to young people and a Stephen Minister. She graduated from Manchester College in 1944. She was a former member of the College Women’s Club and a charter member of Association for Couples in Marriage Enrichment, where she assisted her husband with workshops and retreats throughout the Church of the Brethren from 1973-83. She was a hospice volunteer.
Surviving are two daughters, Gail Evans (and Bob Knechel), Traverse City, Mich., and Kay Evans Ball, South Bend; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Timbercrest Chapel, North Manchester, with Pastor Karen Eberly officiating. Burial will be in Manchester Church of the Brethren Memorial Garden.
Calling is one hour prior to the service Saturday at Timbercrest Chapel.  
McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, is in charge of arrangements.
