North Webster Fire Department responded to a residential fire around noon Wednesday at 5251 E. CR 800N, North Webster. According to North Webster Fire Chief Jeremy Likens, there were three occupants at the time of the fire who all escaped unharmed. The fire was under control by 12:35 p.m. Likens said the fire started in the basement and the area sustained heavy damage. The rest of the home sustained heat and smoke damage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. According to county records, the property is owned by Ronald D. Hensley of that address. North Webster Fire Department was fully assisted by Syracuse Fire Department, and Leesburg Fire Department assisted with manpower. North Webster EMS was also on scene.
