Heartline Pregnancy Center Honored

Posted
SHIPSHEWANA – The Heartline Pregnancy Center staff recently attended the annual Real Alternatives Conference at the Blue Gate Garden Inn in Shipshewana.

Real Alternatives administers the Michigan and Indiana Pregnancy and Parenting Support Services Programs, government-funded programs that provide services to women facing unplanned pregnancies which empowers them to choose childbirth over abortion.

Counselors from the two states heard a variety of speakers addressing issues affecting women and families.

During the conference, Heartline was awarded the Indiana Quality Performance Award. Kristen Dhaemers, Heartline Client Services director stated, “We are honored to have been recognized for our high standard of performance and look forward to continued growth as we take this new knowledge gained from the conference into our clinic to meet the diverse needs of the clients we serve.”

Real Alternatives, through its statewide networks of pro-life service provider organizations, reaches out to each woman, no matter what her background or circumstances, without charging any fees. Compassionate, trained counselors assess each woman’s situation and provide direct support services so women do not feel pressured to have an abortion now or in the future. They also provide support programs that work to prevent the circumstances that might lead to abortion in the first place.

Heartline provides free pregnancy tests and ultrasounds as well as a number of services, including prenatal and parenting education, pregnancy and post pregnancy support, and community outreach programs.
