Haunted Forest Planned At North Manchester

Posted

NORTH MANCHESTER - Family entertainment and Halloween are going hand-in-hand in North Manchester with the Ninth Annual Haunted Forest Oct. 25 and 26 at Manchester College from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

The annual event is for all ages and is sponsored by North Manchester Community Service, the Parks and Recreation Department and Manchester College office of volunteers.

"It's for family entertainment," Donna Boomershine, Parks and Recreation Department assistant director, said. "It's in the MC woods and we have about eight stops along the way in the woods."

Tour guides will take small groups through the Haunted Forest, just north of Schwalm Hall on Manchester College's campus.

"We have tour guides that take groups through," Boomershine said. "Some of them put on little skits and some of them you walk - or run through, whatever."

There also will be a straw maze for people to go through and "little glow lights" are available "for the little ones - should they get scared."

"It also involves the college students with the community," she said, "which is something we try hard to do."

Admission into the Haunted Forest is $1 per person. For more information, or for anyone interested in assisting with the Haunted Forest, contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 982-4919, or Community Services at 982-6115.
