Warsaw wrestler Kyle Hatch remains undefeated this season, though the Tigers suffered a 48-29 loss to Northern Lakes Conference foe Goshen Thursday evening. Hatch, wrestling at 145 pounds, pinned Goshen’s Noah Shively and improved his season record to 26-0. As a team, the Tigers fell to 5-13 overall and 2-4 in the NLC. The RedHawks improved to 21-5 and 6-1 in conference action. Following a forfeit and three consecutive pins, Goshen held a 24-0 lead on the host Tigers. Refusing to go down without a fight, Warsaw clawed its way back and took a 25-24 lead on the scoreboard before Goshen took control again. Winners for the Tigers included Kameron Hile, Christian Taylor, Francisco Ramirez, Brady Stout, Alec Haines and Hatch. For Goshen, Braxton Rodriguez, Ricky Flores, Hector Flores, Miguel Navarro, Julio Navarro and Derek Paz all won by pin. Warsaw is in action again Saturday in the Garrett Invitational, and then closes the NLC portion of its schedule with a senior match against Concord on Wednesday. The NLC championships are slated for Jan. 23 at Elkhart Memorial.
