Sometimes I feel that I respond and comment in your opinion page far too often, yet some things just have to be said and there are two in Tuesday's Times-Union that I can't let go.
Ted, I love you like a brother, and agree with you about the way I feel when I see certain people comment and "open their mouths." The feeling you get about Coulter's comments is exactly the feeling I get when Pelosi "opens her mouth." She makes conservatism look better and better. Notice, Ted, I didn't say Republicans, there are few conservatives left in the Republican party. Let's keep driving the wedge deeper, in the end some form of permanent solution will present itself. I'm ready, are you?
To Deb McClintock - You asked for someone to tell you a way to stop what is going on with the local cable affiliate. Here's someone telling you a way. Call the cable company and tell them to shut your service off, just shut it off. You don't need to have TV, though you do want it badly enough to complain.
I guarantee if everyone cancels service, they will want to know why, they might actually listen to you. Most likely they will just sell the business, perhaps someone that listens to you will buy it.
However, given that most media is far-left controlled, they just might keep it up and running for the propaganda value. The big money in the system is already invested long ago, it's just repair and maintenance now. Cable companies count their profits in the hundreds of percents over their costs, they can afford to keep it just to control it.
The boycott of the service is worth a try, but don't hold your breath.
One thing for sure, as long as you continue to pay your bill, they won't change what they are doing. Perhaps you should look into a dish or, here's a novel idea, get an antenna. Perhaps that's a "neo" idea, huh, Ted?
