The latest Harry Potter movie, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix," made $139.7 million in its first week, with $77.1 million being over the weekend.
The movie, being shown on two screens at North Point Cinemas, Warsaw, was released July 11 with the first showing at midnight. The movie stars Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, with many of the actors from the first four movies returning to reprise their roles.
Harry Potter fans can now look forward to the final book of the series, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," which will be released Friday at midnight at Wal-Mart, Warsaw.
There will be a Midnight Party Friday at 11 p.m., and it will go until the book is released at midnight. There will be refreshments, trivia and a costume contest.
Wal-Mart has about 150 pre-orders for the book, but they will sell much more than that in the first night. "The majority of people who really want the book will be here at midnight," said Kimberly, stationary manager.
About 200 people showed at the previous Harry Potter book release party. People that come are of all ages, from kids to adults, with most of them dressing in full costume.
The party for "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" will be the third Harry Potter book release party. The number of books released at midnight is unknown as it is a Wal-Mart secret.
