Harry Leroy Hendricks, 80, of Ligonier and formerly of North Webster, died at 11:40 a.m. Sept. 23, 2008, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.

He was born June 20, 1928, in Anderson, to Herman A. and Eva May Sturdevant Hendricks. On Sept. 16, 1950, he married Norma Parisi, who survives.

An area resident since coming from Muncie in 1970, he was an independent contractor. He was a member of Quaker Haven Friends Church, a lifelong member and past commander of the North Webster American Legion Post 253, and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Warsaw. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Also surviving are a daughter, Christine (and spouse David) Griffith, Ligonier; a son, Rodney Hendricks, North Webster; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three brothers: Billie Hendricks, Anderson; Myron Hendricks, Alexandria; and David Hendricks, Alabama. He was preceded in death by a brother.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at North Webster Cemetery, Mock Addition, with military honors by members of the North Webster American Legion.

Calling is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, Syracuse.
