SYRACUSE – Harold Stoffel, 91, Syracuse, passed away April 29, 2016, at his home. He was born March 16, 1925, in Huntington, to Frank and Mary Gill Stoffel. On Sept. 30, 1950 he married Maxine Carl, who preceded him in death in 1991. He operated the North Webster Lumber Yard and was a longtime farmer as well. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a longtime member of the St. Martin’s DePorres Catholic Church, Syracuse; and a member of Knights of Columbus and American Legion Post 253. Survivors include seven children: Cindy (and spouse John) Hollister, Larry (and spouse Cathy) Stoffel, Frank (and spouse Brenda) Stoffel, Diane Rucker, John (and spouse Dale) Stoffel, Dave (and spouse Cathy) Stoffel, Angie (and spouse Dave) Wall; 20 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandchild and a great-grandchild. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Martin’s DePorres Catholic Church, Syracuse, with Father Richard Hire officiating. Burial will follow at the North Webster Cemetery in Mock Addition with military rites performed by North Webster American Legion.
