Harold Sheaffer Burton, Warsaw, went home to be with the Lord at 3:40 a.m. Jan. 3, 2017, at Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw, at the age of 60. He was born July 13, 1956, in Lancaster, Pa., to Walter Lane Thatcher and Mary Duffy Sheaffer Burton. On June 4, 1983, in Rehrersburg, Pa., he was married to Cynthia Brumbaugh, who survives in Warsaw. He served in the U.S. Navy until his honorable discharge. He was a resident of Kosciusko County for the past 22 years and was a member of Abundant Life Assembly of God, Warsaw. He worked for five years for a consulting firm in Reading, Pa., as a computer programmer. Along with his wife, Cindy Burton, he will be lovingly remembered by his two sons, James Burton and Michael Burton, both of Warsaw; a daughter, Katharine Burton, Fort Wayne; a brother, Edward (wife Heidi) Burton, Lancaster; two sisters, Elizabeth Duffy Johnson, Lititz, Pa., and Mary (husband Jim) Mays, California; and his mother, Mary Duffy Burton, Lancaster. He was preceded by his father and one brother. Memorial service and burial at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, will take place at a later date.
