Harold R. "Butch" Thrash, 78, of Leesburg, and formally of Chandler, Okla., passed away at 5:10 p.m. June 15, 2011, in his residence.
He was born March 10, 1933, in Geary, Okla., to Howell “Buddy” and Buenos Ayers Thrash.
He was a salesman for mobile homes and owned pet stores in Oklahoma City. He was a member of the Church of Christ and was a graduate of Oklahoma State University, Tulsa. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He loved animals and raised Arabian horses.
Surviving are a daughter, Lori (and spouse Dave) Smoker, Leesburg; a son, David (and spouse Joan) Thrash, Omaha, Neb.; two sisters, LaDonna Mitchell, Wichita Falls, Texas, and Dowana Smoot, Bethany, Okla.; two brothers, Ralph Thrash, Hutchinson, Kan., and Gary Thrash, Bethany; and seven grandchildren, Seth, Carly, Dalton, Elizabeth, Rachael, David Jr. and Danny. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at 50th Street Church of Christ, 6035 NW 50th St., Oklahoma City, OK., with Pastor Billy Adcox officiating.
