Hargus Tackett, 82, Warsaw, passed away at 8:48 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, 2017, in his residence.
He was born March 4, 1935, in Floyd County, Ky., to Andrew and Addie Blanton Tackett. He was united in marriage to Evelyn Ervin on April 28, 1980, in Warsaw.
He was a Warsaw city employee and retired from the street department. He was a member of Victory Christian Church, Warsaw.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Tackett, Warsaw; children: Wanda (spouse Bill) Hawkins, Trinity, N.C.; David (spouse Angie) Tackett, Warsaw; Donna Cloud, Sacramento, Calif.; Larry Tackett, Talma; Mike Wren, Oklahoma; Terri (spouse Dale) Harger, Enid, Okla.; Cherie (spouse Jay) Taylor, Silver Lake; Judi (spouse Tabor) Sumrall, Merced, Calif.; Tim (spouse Shelly) Tackett, Columbus; and David Swank, Warsaw; 37 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ray Tackett and Frank (spouse Beverly) Tackett; and five sisters: Mandy Claybaugh, Huntington; Polly (spouse Monroe) Allen, Packerton; Fay Brunner, Palestine; Kathleen (spouse James) Griffith, Warsaw; and Gerldine Blair, Warsaw.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Addie Tackett; three brothers; one son; two grandchildren; and four sisters.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 8, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Pastor Luis Quiroz will officiate the service.
Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
