PORTLAND - Hamor Williamson, 81, of rural Portland, passed away Oct. 20, 2009, in his residence.
He was born Oct. 28, 1927, in Portland, to Darwin and Alta Orr Williamson. On Nov. 12, 1950, he married June Marie Platt, who survives.
He was a graduate of Portland High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army from 1950-1952, serving in Germany. He owned and operated Hamor Williamson Construction for more than 50 years. He attended West Walnut Street Church of Christ, Portland.
Also surviving are two daughters, Cynthia (and spouse Fred) Pries, Winchester, and Christine Lozier, Warsaw; three sons: Sidney (and spouse Mary) Williamson, Las Cruces, N.M.; Jed (and spouse Dorothy) Williamson, Dunkirk; and Rodney (and spouse Tammy) Williamson, Greenwood; three brothers, Verl D. Williamson, Leoris J. (and spouse Betty) Williamson and Darrell N. (and spouse Faye) Williamson, all of Portland; 11 grandchildren; and fourgreat-grandchildren
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home, Portland, with Pastors Jim Nichols and Darrell Borders officiating. Burial will be in Salamonia Cemetery with military graveside rites by members of American Legion Post 211, Portland.
Calling is from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
