Habitat for Humanity Launches Critical Home Repair Program

Posted
A Warsaw family recently received help from Habitat for Humanity of Kosciusko County’s newly launched Critical Home Repair program.

The deterioration caused by a leaking toilet endangered the family who owns the home because of the possibility of something or someone falling through the rotted material.

Habitat fully restored the bathroom, making it safe once again for its residents.

Critical Home Repair is a new Habitat program designed to provide urgent and major repairs to prevent homeowners from being displaced.

Applicants meet specific criteria and once approved receive a no-interest loan for materials and any necessary contract labor.

Volunteers are used as much as possible in the labor process to lower the cost to the homeowner.

Home repair projects include weatherization, preservation and critical repairs.

Families who are in need of assistance can contact the Habitat for Humanity of Kosciusko County office at 574-269-4104 for more information.
