H. Virginia Woodard

FORT WAYNE – H. Virginia Woodard, 82, passed away Nov.1, 2011, in St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne.

She was born in Chicago, Ill., to Mahlon and Hazel McDonald, who preceded her in death. Her husband of 63 years, George F. Woodard, survives in Fort Wayne.

She was a Daughters of American Veterans Auxiliary life member.

Also surviving are two sons, Donald (and spouse Cathy) Woodard and David (and spouse Monica) Woodard, all of Fort Wayne; three daughters, Georgia Woodard, Warsaw, and Kathleen (and spouse Raymond) Cole and Elizabeth (and spouse Michael) Whitman, all of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, John McDonald, Merrit Island, Fla., and James Doughman, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by two sons, Joseph and Michael Woodard; a sister, Marion Gonzales; and a brother, Maurice “Bud” McDonald.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., with Pastor Phil Mortensen officiating. Burial will be in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne.

Calling is from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
