NAPPANEE – H. LaVon Kuhn, 84, formerly of Nappanee, died at 12:25 p.m. Sept. 1, 2011, in Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare, Milford.
He was born Oct. 11, 1926, in Nappanee, to Charlie and Artie Hepler Kuhn. On Feb. 27, 1997, he married Donna Phillips, who died May 27, 1997.
He was a World War II Army Air Corp veteran. A truck driver for 36 years, he drove for NIBCO for 15 years, GCI for 10 years and Nappanee Ford. He was a former member of Nappanee Kiwanis, Lions Club and Jaycee’s.
Surviving are a son, Ted (and spouse Kelly) Kuhn, Nappanee; a daughter, Trudy Jones, Nappanee; a stepdaughter, Joy Gates, Goshen; and a brother, Lowell (and spouse Marilyn) Kuhn, Bremen. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Services will be at noon Tuesday at First Brethren Church, Nappanee, with the Rev. Tom Schiefer officiating. Burial will be in Bremen Cemetery.
Calling is from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the church.
