WAKARUSA - H. LaMar Stahly, 90, died at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 24, 2008, in Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa, where he resided.
He was born Feb. 1, 1918, in Nappanee, to Harvey and Nellie McGowan Stahly. On June 24, 1939, in Wakarusa, he married Pauline Lois Weldy, who survives.
A lifetime area resident, he spent winters in Sarasota, Fla., for the past 27 years. She was a 1936 Nappanee High School graduate and was the director of engineering at Elkhart Products. He attended Holdeman Mennonite Church.
Also surviving are five sons: Terry (and spouse Corrie) Stahly, Elkhart; Dennis (and spouse Breta) Stahly, Cassopolis, Mich.; Bruce (and spouse Barbara) Stahly, Goshen; Steve (and spouse Deb) Stahly, Syracuse; and Kirby (and spouse Denise) Stahly, Roanoke; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Holdeman Mennonite Church, Wakarusa, with the Rev. B.J. Leichty officiating. Burial will be in Olive Cemetery.
Calling is from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Wakarusa.
