H. Dwight Burch

PLYMOUTH - H. Dwight Burch, 90, a lifetime Walkerton resident, died of natural causes at 7:50 p.m. Nov. 27, 2008, in his residence.

He was born Oct. 21, 1918, in the Walkerton/Tyner area, to Chester H. and Blanche V. Stull Burch. On Oct. 21, 1939, in United Brethren Church, Tyner, he married Pauline E. Baker, who survives.

He graduated from Tyner High School in 1936. He was a lifetime farmer and a popular and dependable school bus driver for Tyner and John Glenn school districts for 46 years. He enjoyed cutting wood, gardening and butchering - always sharing his bounty with others. He was a lifetime member of Blissville Church of the Brethren and was an Indiana Farm Bureau member for more than 52 years.

Also surviving are two son, DuWayne P. (and spouse Becky) Burch, North Liberty, and Dennis L. (and spouse Linda) Burch, Mentone; five grandchildren: Todd (and spouse Karen) Burch and Tracey (and spouse Tom) Duff, all of Walkerton; Dawn (and spouse Shawn) Campbell, Bremen; Deanna (and spouse Scott) Greene, Niagara Falls, N.Y.; and Deborah Burch, Fort Wayne; eight great-grandchildren, Nathan and Eric Burch; Tyler and Trevor Duff; Abby and Zach, Campbell; Eric and Isaac Greene; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lloyd Burch.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Blissville Church of the Brethren, 6250 Spruce Trail, Plymouth, with the Rev. Dester Cummins, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Tyner Cemetery.

Calling is from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
