SYRACUSE — The Warsaw and Wawasee gymnastics teams had their seasons come to a close at Saturday’s Wawasee Sectional.
At sectionals, the top six individuals in each event advance to regionals, but Warsaw and Wawasee each had one seventh-place finish.
For Warsaw, it was sophomore Abbi Baum who finished just outside the qualifiers, finishing seventh on the uneven bars with a score of 8.2, while Wawasee junior Kim Garber also placed seventh on the beam with an 8.3.
DeKalb won the sectional with a total score of 106.575, while Warsaw was sixth (95.925) and Wawasee was eighth (93.3).
The top three teams, along with advancing individuals, will now compete at Friday’s Valparaiso Regional.
