SYRACUSE — The seasons of the Warsaw and Wawasee gymnastic teams came to a close Saturday. With the top three teams advancing on to regionals, DeKalb (103.725), Lakeland (100.900) and Elkhart Central (100.850) will now competed at the Huntington North Regional Saturday, while host Wawasee finished fifth (97.400), at the sectional and Warsaw was eighth (87.775). Along with the top three teams moving on to regionals, the top six individuals to as well, but neither Wawasee or Warsaw had someone accomplish that feat. For Wawasee, Emily Allen finished 13th on the vault (8.75), 11th on bars (7.95) eighth on the beam (8.5) and 14th for her floor exercise (8.6), placing 10th in the all-around (33.8). Wawasee’s closest chance to advance someone was on the uneven bars, where Taylor Busse finished seventh with a 8.15, while the sixth-place score was 8.2. Warsaw’s top gymnast was Shannon Winslow, who finished 18th in the all-around (32.35), with her top event being the uneven bars, which she placed 15th in with a score of 7.75.
