Dear Bob Frantz, you are way out in left field about guns.
First of all, the "bad guys" will always have guns. Criminals do not register their guns. We live 12 miles from Warsaw and on the few times we have had to call for law enforcement, it has been from one to two hours until a county officers could get to our home. If we are in dire need of help, well, forget it. We're on our own, buddy.
If we have several drownings in one weekend, do we fill the lake with stones and dirt? When we lived in Houston, Texas, there were many stabbings every weekend. Let's outlaw and dispose of all knives. When there are stranglings, let's cut off the offenders' hands. Come on, Mr. Frantz, get real. We have the Second Amendment for a reason. A very good reason.
Guns are not easy to obtain, especially handguns. When I purchased mine, I had to register at the gun show, be investigated by the FBI after I was fingerprinted and I had to wait for the time when I was cleared to own it.
If a person wants to commit murder, that person will find a way. England does not allow some firearms and their murder rate is higher than ours. We do not have the largest death rate from guns. Do some real research, know the truth and forget trying to take my Second Amendment rights away from me. As the old saying goes, "it ain't gonna happen."
