Gun Incident Brings ChargesA Milford man was arrested earlier this month after allegedly intimidating another man with a gun.
Randale Lee Thompson II, 39, of 404 W. Emeline St., Milford, was arrested and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 12:53 p.m. Oct. 5 for intimidation with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed Monday, on Oct. 5 Milford Police Department officer Timothy Miller responded to a battery in progress involving a weapon at Thompson’s address.
Upon arrival, he was met by a man who said he was in a verbal argument with Thompson. During the argument, Thompson went to the bedroom and retrieved a black handgun, operated the slide and pointed the firearm at the man’s head and told him to get out of the home. The man left out the back door.
Officers surrounded the home and Thompson came out to speak with officers. Miller advised Thompson that he could not take things into his own hands.
Thompson said, “It’s the only way to get them out of my house.” He then admitted he pulled his weapon and displayed it, but did not point it at anyone, according to the affidavit.
Miller could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from Thompson’s breath.
Officers spoke with a woman who lives at the same address. She said she heard the conversation between Thompson and the man and heard the slide being worked on the gun. She said she heard Thompson said, “Now it’s loaded.” She could not see if Thompson pointed the handgun at the man.
An initial hearing for Thompson was rescheduled for 1 p.m. Nov. 15 in Kosciusko County Superior Court III.
