I read with great interest today Harold Kitson's letter that was so negative regarding the recent election of Obama and his policies regarding gun control. I must admit that because I have no interest in guns or arms, I don't know what exactly his policies are. What I do understand is that not much will change. I myself don't understand how gun control is a bad thing.
So consider this. Last week in Massachusetts, an 8-year-old boy accidentally shot himself in the head with an Uzi, killing himself. Did he do this while playing around with a weapon he shouldn't have been handling? No, it was at a gun fair in which it was perfectly legal, with his parents' consent, for an 8-year-old child to fire an Uzi. He lost control of the weapon and only killed himself. Witnesses say it was a miracle he didn't end up spraying the crowd that was there.
Will someone explain to me what makes it OK for an 8-year-old child to handle such a a dangerous weapon legally?
