A Warsaw man entered a guilty plea Tuesday morning on three counts of Class B felony child molesting stemming from incidents occurring in 2013. Joshua J. Surface, 42, Warsaw, was arrested and charged in June 2013 after he allegedly had sex with a then 10-year-old girl multiple times. According to a probable cause affidavit filed by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, the girl told police that Surface had sex with her at least three times between April and June 2013 at her mother’s apartment. Surface was initially charged with three counts of Class A felony child molesting, but as a part of a plea agreement pleaded guilty to the lesser crime of three counts of Class B felony child molesting. Surface is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 16, at which time the court will decide whether or not to accept the plea agreement.
