They are working to send care packages to Iraq under the "Operation Indiana Cares." They talked to three classes at Pierceton Elementary School April 22 about their experiences, what it is like in Iraq and the great thing the kids are doing to help out the troops there and what it means to the troops to receive packages from home.
Pierceton students are collecting tooth care items to send in these packages. This is part of the Learning to Give program to help students learn about giving their time, talent and treasures to others around them in need. The tooth care drive is being called "TFT" - Toothbrushes for Troops, with the theme "TNT" AC/DC dynamite. The collection will last until May 9. They will be taken to Iraq sometime in June with the statewide donations.
