NORTH MANCHESTER - Grandstaff Rendering Service Inc. will cease all collection and processing Friday.
David Grandstaff, president of the 88-year-old family business said succession is not an option. G.A. Wintzer & Sons of Wapakoneta, Ohio, will assume a majority of Grandstaff's services and processing.
Grandstaff said Wintzers will not accept dead animals. People looking for dead animal disposal options should contact National By-Products at 800-342-5610, or the Indiana State Veterinarian at 317-227-0300. Grandstaff also pointed to recent governmental proposals related to BSE control that cast serious doubts on the viability of dead stock handling.
No dead animals may be left at the former Grandstaff location.
