Grace’s Beatty Tabbed As League’s Athlete Of The WeekWINONA LAKE – Freshman Isaac Beatty was named the Crossroads League Track Athlete of the Week on Monday for Grace’s track and field team.

Beatty won two events over the weekend at the IWU Invitational. He won the 1,000-meter race with a time of 2:38.35.

He teamed up with Luke Smith, Dimitri Margaritidis and Kyle Smith to win the 4x800 relay with a time of 7:57.37. The time was fast enough to hit the NAIA “A” qualifying standard.

The Lancers are in Illinois on Friday at the Snow Day Invitational, held at North Central College.

Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

Cameron Wolter, Marian

Wolter was busy in No. 8 Marian’s road wins at No. 9 Bethel and Huntington, averaging 24.0 points and 10.0 rebounds in the victories. The junior center had 32 points and 12 boards in a 25-point win at BU, before adding 16 points, eight caroms and two steals at HU.

 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

Katie Giller, Marian

Giller registered a pair of double-doubles for No. 4 Marian, leading the Knights past Bethel and No. 21 Huntington. The sophomore finished the week averaging 19.0 points, 13.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists in the two wins, while shooting 10-of-19 from the floor and 18-of-19 from the charity stripe.

Men’s Indoor TF Field Athlete of the Week

Kyler Dickey, Mount Vernon Nazarene

Dickey opened his 2020 indoor campaign with wins in the shot put and weight throw at the Ron Althoff Relays. The sophomore posted marks of 14.31 meters in the shot and 13.93 meters in the weight throw.

Women’s Indoor TF Field Athlete of the Week

Erin Oleksak, Marian

Oleksak switched gears from her NAIA All-American soccer performance to debut in the high jump for Marian. The freshman claimed victory with an NAIA A-standard leap of 1.68 meters in the high jump at the IWU Invite. Oleksak also won the 60-meter hurdles with an A-mark and finished third in the 200-meters.

 Women’s Indoor TF Track Athlete of the Week

Sarah Harden, Taylor

Harden raced to victory in the 3,000-meters with an NAIA A-standard time of 10:12.91 to finish 19 seconds ahead of the pack at the PFW Invite and automatically qualified for NAIA Nationals.
