Grace Provides Short Term Cultural Opportunities For Students

WINONA LAKE - Thirty-seven Grace College and Seminary students and faculty will depart in mid-March for three domestic and international cross-cultural education trips.
The teams will travel during Grace's spring break, March 19 - 27.
Students will travel to inner-city Philadelphia, France and England. Each trip will include an educational component, such as visiting the home of Shakespeare on the England trip, and a cultural discovery component, such as eating at Paris' oldest café, where patrons such as Voltaire, Diderot, Rousseau and Benjamin Franklin dined.
Professor Jacqueline Schram, who is co-leading the France trip with Rob and Nichole Plaster in Paris, said, "Cultural exchange and interaction [will] occur throughout the week as gracious French people open their lives to us by inviting us into their home. Given the place of relationship for presenting the gospel in France, students' greatest service to the Plasters is engaging in their network of relationships."Grace's Global Perspectives class requires that each student fulfill a one-week minimum cross-cultural experience, designed to broaden students' knowledge about the world and provide them with unique opportunities to learn in a different context than their own. Global Perspectives is part of the "Grace Core," a set of foundational, general-education classes required for every student, regardless of major area of study.
