Grace Offers Short Course On Multiculturalism

Posted

WINONA LAKE - Following last year's successful seminar on multiculturalism, Grace College is offering a shorter one-day course on Nov. 11.

Focusing on "basic issues for understanding people across cultural landscapes," the seminar will be led by Dr. Tom Stallter, chairman of the department of intercultural studies at Grace College and Grace Theological Seminary.

Discussed during the day will be such topics as cultural diversity issues, the dimensions and dynamics of culture, the issues of culture shock and adjustment for meaningful relationships, an assessment of basic values that affect cross-cultural interaction, and a video on intercultural communication.

The seminar is designed to help people relate to other ethnic groups in the workplace, in education, in business or just in everyday living.

It is scheduled for Indiana Hall, Nov. 11, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Registration fee is $10 per person ($15 after Oct. 25), and the seminar fee, which includes lunch and materials, is $59 per person.
