WINONA LAKE - The 33rd Annual Juried Student Art Exhibit will open Tuesday at the Mount Memorial Art Gallery on the Grace College campus. The community is invited to the awards ceremony at 4 p.m. when the top three pieces in each category and best of exhibit will be announced.
More than 50 works are selected for the exhibition, which is open to all art majors, minors and students taking an art class at Grace this year. Categories include drawing, photography, printmaking, illustration, graphic design, watercolor painting, oil/acrylic painting, pottery and open. Awards are fully funded by alumni of the art department.
In conjunction with the Juried Exhibit, the 7th Annual Grace Art Club Exhibit will be hosted by the Warsaw Community Public Library. More than 40 works will be exhibited in celebration of National Library Month.
The juror for this year's show is Sara Lindquist, graphic designer at Biomet, Warsaw.
Many works are for sale in both shows. Admission to both exhibits is free and both close May 4.
The Mount Memorial Art Gallery is on the main floor of Mount Memorial Hall on the Grace College Campus, between Kings Highway and College Avenue. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, and Monday and Tuesday evenings until 10 p.m. The Warsaw Community Public Library is at the corner of Detroit and Center Streets. Hours are Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fri. 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sat. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Both locations are handicapped accessible.
