WINONA LAKE – Grace College’s athletic department has named Stephen Copeland and Josh Neuhart the new sports information directors for the upcoming year. Their responsibilities will include providing a multimedia communication link between Grace athletics and the general public, media and Grace community, as well as overseeing all media relations and publications for the 14 athletic programs. Copeland and Neuhart have worked as assistants in the sports information department for four years as students, assisting in maintaining the athletic website, designing and laying out multiple media guides, and taking game photographs, among other duties. The pair has initiated social media channels, the Lancer Athletic Blog and an extensive photo collection for each varsity program. Their written work has been printed in publications such as Sports Spectrum Magazine, The Indianapolis Star, Times-Union and Hendricks County Flyer. Copeland, who was a member of Grace's golf team for four years, received second place in the NAIA’s Dr. W. Jack Bell Writing Contest for his feature story in 2010. The duo also received eighth place last year in the In-House website category for the NAIA. “We are thankful for the opportunity to have Stephen and Josh continue working in the sports information office,” said Grace athletic director Chad Briscoe. “I appreciate the support from the administration at Grace College for our sports information department. Josh and Stephen continue to have a great impact on our athletic department and assist our coaches to operate at high level.” For the past two years, the pair has directed the sports information duties for the NCCAA Women’s Basketball Division I National Championship, held at Grace’s Orthopaedic Capital Center. During their undergraduate careers, Copeland and Neuhart edited and designed the sports pages for Grace’s student newspaper The Sounding Board. They were also involved in various student leadership positions at Grace. Copeland and Neuhart, who both reside in Winona Lake, obtained bachelor’s degrees in journalism and Bible from Grace College.
