Grace College Presents Band Night At The Opera Friday

WINONA LAKE - Join the Grace College Wind Ensemble Friday at 7:30 p.m. as they present their fall concert "Band Night at the Opera."
The program will feature musical themes from opera.The program will feature music from Bizet's "Carmen," Mascagni's "Cavalleria Rusticana," "The Slippers or The Little Shoes" by Tchaikovsky, "The Snow Maiden - A Spring Fairy Tale" by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.
The wind ensemble also will perform the music from one of George Gershwin's "Porgy and Bess." The concert will conclude with John Phillip Sousa's march "El Capitan."
The 60-plus member Grace College Community Band is conducted by Martin Becker. The musicians include Grace College music majors, non-majors, community members, several high school students and professional musicians.
The concert will be at Rodeheaver Auditorium and is free and open to the public.
