Grace Alumna To Appear On ‘Jeopardy!’ WINONA LAKE – Grace College alumna Dr. Susan Waller will appear on the game show “Jeopardy!” at 7:30 p.m. today.
Waller, who graduated from Grace in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts in English, went on to earn a graduate degree from Hunter College and a master’s and doctorate degree in education from Widener University.
She is a longtime resident of Chester, Pa., where she works at a local school, The Christian Academy, as the media center specialist and director of curriculum and professional development.
Waller says she has watched “Jeopardy!” for at least 25 years. After a two-year application process, which included online testing and a live audition, a long-time dream came true for Weller when she was invited to be a contestant on “Jeopardy!” She and her husband, John, flew to Los Angeles for the taping of her show on March 5.
Of particular interest about Weller’s “Jeopardy!” appearance is whether she will compete against James Holzhauer, the second-winningest contestant in “Jeopardy!” history, according to a news release from Grace College. Holzhauer prevailed for the 25th time on Wednesday night, which meant Thursday night the world learned if Waller will take him on in tonight’s show.
Dr. Bill Katip, president of Grace College, said, “We are very proud that one of our own has earned a spot on quite possibly the best game show in America. To our knowledge, Dr. Weller is the first Grace graduate to be a contestant on ‘Jeopardy!,’ so I know all of the Grace family will be cheering her on.”
“Jeopardy!” airs on WSBT 22 at 7:30 p.m. in South Bend and on WANE 15 at 7:30 p.m. in Fort Wayne. For more information, visit www.jeopardy.com.
