William “ Rocky” Goshert will take over the daily operational decisions for the Kosciusko?County Sheriff’s Department effective Friday, according to a news release from KCSD.
Sheriff Aaron Rovenstine will continue to sign and authorize any legal documents. State statue requires the signature of the elected sheriff.
Rovenstine pleaded to guilty to felony intimidation as part of a plea agreement Wednesday.
Sentencing is set May 23.
If the judge accepts the plea, Rovenstine will be removed from office and the Republican caucus will elect a new sheriff 30 days after.
