Posted

A Goshen man was arrested Monday for dealing methamphetamine.

According to a Kosciusko County Special Operations Team Drug Task Force press release, the task force began an investigation into Julio Garcia, 28, Goshen, about a week ago.

It was determined by the task force that Garcia has been delivering large amounts of methamphetamine to the Enchanted Hills area. Monday, the task force made an undercover purchase of methamphetamine from Garcia and then arrested him. Officers purchased approximately 1-1/2 ounces of meth and recovered a stolen handgun.

In the investigation after the arrest, officers traveled to Garcia's Goshen residence and seized approximately one pound of methamphetamine and two more stolen handguns.

Garcia is considered a large scale dealer in northern Kosciusko County as well as Elkhart County and the Ligonier area, police said.

He was charged with dealing methamphetamine over 3 grams as a Class A felony, possession of stolen property, a Class D felony, and carrying a handgun without a permit, a Class A misdemeanor. He is being held in the Kosciusko County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
