U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Edward Smith (R), station commander for the Warsaw recruiting station, talks with Warsaw Community High School students and staff Monday about the Army's Top Fuel dragster. The car, which has a wheelbase of 300 inches (25 feet, front axle to rear axle centerlines) and weighs 2,225 pounds, is driven by Tony 'The Sarge' Schumacher. Schumacher holds four championships. The best finish line speed of the car is 337.58 mph, Smith said. Schumacher will compete down at Indianapolis for the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals this weekend, according to Smith. Along with the dragster, the Army also displayed two Army-sponsored NHRA Pro Stock Bikes previously rode by Angelle Sampey (bike on the left) and Antron Brown (bike on the right). All three of the Army's drivers hold numerous titles, Smith said. The Army displayed the car and bikes at WCHS as part of its recruiting program.
