Editor, Times-Union: A few Sundays ago, our pastor said that there are two things wrong with the church in America. We are prayerless and we don’t want to know God. I would agree.
As a whole, we don’t even study the Living Word of God so that it could take root in us and change us from the inside, out.
Yet even with these truths being proclaimed, as the result of prayer and boldness in the pulpit, the Holy Spirit is moving!
Maybe similar things are happening in your home churches.
Three weeks ago, His Presence was so strong that I nearly ran to the alter. Brokenhearted for the Body and for America, I wept as our pastor prayed an anointed prayer for forgiveness for himself, for his church, for his community, our nation and the world. Pastor’s spirit begged Him for His deliverance!
If your church is experiencing a similar stirring, please join me in prayer. And if He isn’t present in a way that can be seen or felt, ask our Beloved Father for His burden to fill you so that you can cry out with His Heart.
If we look at what is (and isn’t) taking place in Washington, it all appears to be lost. Their agendas certainly look to be set in stone with defiant arrogance being used as the mortar. But they cannot halt the moving of the Holy Spirit within the hearts and souls of men. They cannot alter father’s hearts from turning toward their children or their children’s turning toward their father’s. They cannot legislate our God sending forth His Holy Spirit! They cannot stop His work. But we can.
My beloved brethren, when the time comes to give an account, what excuses will we give?
