SYRACUSE - Gloria J. Eyer, 73, of Syracuse, died at 4:13 a.m. Sept. 17, 2010, at Goshen General Hospital.

She was born Aug. 17, 1937, in Goshen, to John L. and Edna F. Wolf Hart. On Sept. 28, 1958, in Syracuse, she married Garry L. Eyer. They later divorced.

She lived in the Syracuse area most of her life. She graduated from Syracuse High School in 1955 and attended Warner Beauty College, Fort Wayne. She was a volunteer for Wawasee Community Schools and was formerly employed at Lakeland Daycare in Syracuse for three years; Sroufe Manufacturing in Ligonier for 15-1/2 years; Salem Bank in Goshen for five years; Beauty Shop in Goshen for two years; and Dr. Bowser's office in Goshen. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Syracuse; Friends of the Library, Syracuse; and Shady Ladies Bunco Club, Syracuse. She attended the Syracuse Church of God.

Surviving are a daughter, Karen (and spouse Rick) Pena, Syracuse; two grandsons; two great-grandsons; a sister, Sylvia Baker, Syracuse; and a brother, Jack (and spouse Phyllis) Hart, Millersburg. She was preceded in death by a son.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, with Pastor Vince Wilczynski officiating. Burial will be in Syracuse Cemetery.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
