This was my night interviewing the Globetrotters. Because I won four tickets, I took my mom, my papaw and my good friend Tate Troutner. I also got to interview them. I interviewed Handels #14, Slick #40 and Scooter #16. I asked them where their favorite place they played and found that Brazil and Jerusalem were their favorite.
I learned they travel nine months out of the year, they practice every day for two hours. The Globetrotters have been around for 85 years and in 1949 they played the Lakers and won. Handels' favorite food was lasagna, Slick's favorite was crab legs. Handels said he has been fishing and liked it, but has never been hunting, but said next time he's in Warsaw he wants to go hunting with us. I had a great time and enjoyed the show. (They were funny).
I would like to end by saying thank you, Times-Union, for putting together the young reporters.
