AKRON- Glendora Hamilton, 87, of 15961 E. 100S, Silver Lake, died at 2:20 a.m. March 16, 2012, at her residence.
She was born July 16, 1924, in Fulton County, to Charles and Esther Yarian Gearhart. On July 26, 1943, she married Delbert M. Hamilton, who died May 23, 1985.
She was a farm wife and a homemaker. She graduated from Akron High School. She attended the Akron Church of God. She worked religiously with the food pantry at the church. She enjoyed reading and plastic canvas.
Surviving are a daughter, Judy (and spouse Mark) Wilcox, Silver Lake; a sister, Gertrude Walker, Chili; a brother, Robert Gearhart, North Manchester; four grandchildren: Christopher Wilcox and Renee Cooper, Akron, Ohio; Heather (and spouse John) Wildermuth, Macy; Stephanie (and spouse Scott) Sterk, and Lynette (and spouse Ryan) Pritchett, all of Silver Lake; and six great-grandchildren: Lincoln and Grant Wildermuth; Eli, Anna, and Katie Sterk; and Luke Pritchett. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Freda Beigh, and two brothers, Lee and Gerald Gearhart.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hartzler Funeral Service, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron, with Pastor Terry Canfield officiating. Burial will be in Silver Creek Cemetery, Silver Lake.
Calling is one hour prior to the service and from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
