Glen 'Pete' R. Wuthrich

Posted
MILFORD – Glen “Pete” R. Wuthrich, 82, Nappanee, passed away May 10, 2016, at Goshen General Hospital.
He was born Jan. 20, 1934, in Milford, to Peter and Laura Graff Wuthrich. On Oct. 5, 1956, he married Marilyn Sutton, who preceded him in death Feb. 28, 2011. They celebrated their golden anniversary together in 2006.
He was a lifetime area resident, graduating from Milford High School in 1952. He spent most of his working career, 32 years, at Phend & Brown Inc., Milford, before retiring as superintendent of asphalt paving operations in 1996. He was baptized as an adult with the Living Gospel Church, Nappanee.
Among the best things he ever did was to marry his wife of 54 years, Marilyn. He was a steady and supportive husband and father that understood and taught the value of hard work. A playful and engaging grandfather, he loved sharing a joke, a playful tease or a good game of euchre. He was a social and engaging friend to many, spanning generations and multiple coffee shops.  He lived a life that he could reflect on with pride, becoming a leader at work, putting four kids through college, retiring at 62 with the ability travel, play golf and spend winter months in Florida. This husband, father, grandfather and friend will be sorely missed.
He is survived by four sons: Rich (and spouse Amy) Wuthrich, Roselle, Ill.; Ron (and spouse Mary Lynn) Wuthrich, Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich.; Rex (and spouse Beth) Wuthrich, La Grange, Ky.; Ryan (and spouse Carla) Wuthrich, Hinesburg, Vt.; eight grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and his sister, Irene (and spouse Jim) Sumpter, Milford. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Wayne, Harlan and Donald Wuthrich; and his parents.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mishler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Milford. Burial will follow in Milford Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
