MENTONE - Glen A. "Mutt" Hyden, 69, of 115 W. Broadway St., Burket, went to be with the Lord and rose at 9:15 a.m. Jan. 25, 2010, in his residence. He was in failing health for four months.
He was born April 24, 1940, in Auxier, Ky., to Glen and Minnie Clark Hyden. On July 17, 1959, in Lancer, Ky., he married Rosie B. Conn, who passed July 31, 2007.
Moving to Indiana from Kentucky in 1987, he was a laborer and worked at various factories as well as a coal truck driver and coal miner. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He loved bluegrass and old country music. He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing. He also loved to fish and hunt raccoon.
Surviving are a daughter, Sheila Humble, Burket; a grandson, Jeff (and spouse Molly) Humble, Burket; and a sister, Amy Moody, Louisville, Ky. He will be greatly missed by a multitude of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl L. Hyden, who passed Jan. 23, 2009.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with Pastor Carl Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
Calling is from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. with Pastor Wayne Whitaker officiating.
