Providing prom dresses and other items for Kosciusko County high school girls, the Glass Slipper Collection went well Saturday, according to organizers. “Sharing Christ’s love is not only a commandment, but a precious privilege,” said Alexis Lisenbee, organizer. “Love is an action word and Glass Slipper is an opportunity to show it one person at a time. With all that’s going on in the world today, prom might not seem like a very big deal. But to the girls who left with dresses, and coupons for flowers and hair styling – it is a promise of a night to remember and a dream come true. I am so grateful to be a small part of it again this year, and proud of Lacey Lisenbee, Ashlyn Vitoux and Kathryn Cobb for their commitment and hard work.” The organizers said they thank the community for the donations of dresses and services to make prom special for so many Kosciusko County girls. Fiesta provided hair styles, area restaurants provided dinners, Maple Avenue Florist provided flowers and Elder Beerman lended their dress racks again this year to the event. The Kosciusko County Community Foundation allowed for the event to be held in the Foundation building again this year. The Glass Slipper is sponsored by Combined Community Services. “The community shares their compassion and caring without ever even knowing who their donations go to in order to respect the privacy of the girls who receive them,” said event organizers in a joint statement.
