PIERCETON - Gladys S. Gebert, 96, of Pierceton, died at 12:55 p.m. Sept. 9, 2010, in Parkview North Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She was born Dec. 8, 1913, in Kosciusko County, to Edward Charles and E. Grace Hover Polk. In September 1933, in Warsaw, she married Orville Gebert, who died Aug. 9, 1995.
A lifetime Kosciusko County resident, she worked in sales at W.R. Thomas and Singers. She was a member of Pierceton United Methodist Church and graduated from Pierceton High School in 1932.
Surviving are a son, Jim (and spouse Jane) Lee Gebert, Pierceton; two daughters, Rebecca Sue (and spouse Doug) Gregory, Fort Wayne, and Carolyn Ann (and spouse Robert) Bethea, Edmond, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, a sister, two brothers and an infant great-grandson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church, Pierceton, with the Rev. Ed Gebert officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Ind. 13, Pierceton.
