Gladys Riley, age 74, and a lifetime resident of the Etna Green area, passed away unexpectedly at 10:10 p.m. in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, on Wednesday, August 7, 2019.
The daughter of Harry W. Slabaugh and Virginia K. Gray Slabaugh, Gladys was a graduate of Etna Green High School. In fact, she was valedictorian of the class in 1962 and went on to earn a degree in nursing in 1972.
Gladys was a private person with a natural caregiving gift. She worked for many years as an OB nurse at Saint Joseph Hospital, Plymouth, and for several years with Bowen Center, Warsaw.
Gladys is survived by several dear friends, an incredible church family and by the many lives she touched in her years of nursing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Marlin Slabaugh.
Private burial will be held at Etna Green Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 3191 W. CR 200 South, Warsaw, on Saturday, Aug. 24 at 2 p.m.
